Can you fill out the support template?

Does the movie evetually unfreeze?
The video freezes during recording or during playback?

First of all, MP doesn't record in XviD, it recompresses dvr-ms files into XviD. I'm guessing what your problem is that while watching TV and compressing a file into XviD, your life TV pauses.

Check to see what your processor load is while doing this.....AND as was already mentioned, fill out a support template. :)

I think mp records in divx for software tv-cards.
    You can try another codec.
Don´t know if you can specify the quality in order to reduce the work load for your system.
You might try to leave the sound uncompressed (pcm), but that needs some space.

I began with a sofware card and tried for 3 weeks to get it working and finally gave up. I had the same problems as you describe. To invest in a tv card with a hardware encoder was the best decision I could take.
