First of all, MP doesn't record in XviD, it recompresses dvr-ms files into XviD.  I'm guessing what your problem is that while watching TV and compressing a file into XviD, your life TV pauses.

Check to see what your processor load is while doing this.....AND as was already mentioned, fill out a support template.
