Ok - the DNTV PCI S3 card I had seems to be dodgy. After re-scanning again - now none of the tuners are working. Tried rebooting, uninstalling, etc. Even re-installed the card's media software - nothing works anymore.

Hmm - the card I got from DigitalNow actually arrived in another brand box, but turned inside out  Maybe I got somebody else's rejected card. Anyway - DNTV this dud is going back.

Stuck my old Pinnacle PCI dual tuner back in and it works fine. I shouldn't have strayed.

UPDATE: I ended up ordering one of these cards and they are an excellent purchase. Setup was quick and easy and I had no problems getting it working in Mediaportal RC3. Also DigitalNow where I ordered from had the thing delivered to me in less than 24hours, you can't ask for any better service than that!!

How are you finding this card with Ch One SD/HD. The reason I ask is that I have recently purchased the PCI version and was thinking it was a fantastic card until I started using it with Ch One SD/HD, quite bad stuttering.

My DVICO black PCB card has perfect reception on these new channels. The only channel the DVICO card has a slight problem with is Ch 7 SD, and that would amount to two very slight stutters during the course of a whole movie.

Got the new card to have four tuners, plus Ch 7 SD has quite a lot of good movies. Also had an occassional problem with the DVICO dropping one of the tuners, may have fixed this by going back to the DVICO drivers from the Windows version.

I am guessing that you are referring to this card, DNTV Live Dual Hybrid PCI-E S3.

Hi Guys

I can confirm that I have this card working very well in MP 1.0. Manox channel One SD and HD both work nicely but I have found that sometimes on 7 HD I get really choppy sound but this might not be the card as I have not investigated the problem yet. While I don't use both digital tuners I do know that both work so maybe you do just have a dud card crispy. Overall I find this card to be much more stable than the DVICO Lite that I used to have.

Hmmm....
Just wondering, those of you that already have the DNTV Live! Dual Hybrid PCI-E S3 card, have you tried getting the analogue inputs (SVHS etc) working in MP server?
I love the idea of having component inputs, but not much use if they wont work with MediaPortal..

Thanks,
John...

Has anyone had success with DigitalNOW DNTV PCI S3 on mediaportal 1.0.0.0? (maybe I need to try R3)

I'm using XP Pro, all updates, latest MP.

No problems here at all with XP Pro and MP1.0.0.0.
Both tuners (digital ones) scan all channels. I didn't try the analog tuners: don't see a point as they will be dropped soonner or later.

Fixed the problem, initially put one of the ram sims in a different coloured slot, no more stuttering on Ch10, Ch One SD/HD.

Then swapped the DVICO card and the Digital Now card, moved the ram sim back to the same coloured slot, no more stuttering.

This must be the best bang for your buck, PCI twin tuner card, available.

I don't know your configuration, but there is a warning on the DigitalNow site that the card might have problems under Vista and 4GB of RAM.

I've got the S3, or S2, well either way they use the same driver as by the digitalnow page and I can confirm that it DOES NOT run under Vista 64 Bit :(

The car is being detected as something completely different on my pc too........ Either Phillips or something else. I would not buy again.
(last updated 31/8/08) that is too long ago, needs 64bit drivers and I doubt the DigitalNow Dual Digital PCIe DVB-T Receiver is supported under 64bit either.

Hauppage is my next buy.
