Do I have to do this? (1 Viewer)

Do I (or should I) follow this tutorial (BELOW) to use Xface or any other skin?

If not, can anyone give me a direct link too a post that shows hot to get Xface up and running.
I downloaded the .zip file. to the (Desktop) but I don't know what to do (or where to put) the unzipped files.

This is assuming you have not installed xface before or another skin. And you are running RC1

You need the latest SVN installed.

So, if you already have media portal installed go here

MediaPortal and TV-Server 1.0 RC1 svn-builds - MediaPortal Forum

and download the newest SVN, it is in a rar file and inside is a .exe.

After you have finished installing the SVN extract the xface skin from the zip file in to /program files/team mediaportal/mediaportal/skin folder

Then go to the mediaportal configuration and select the skin.

That should do it. Let me know if something is confusing.

I have not run Xface before.
I just loaded Version 1.0.0.0 RC1 and it works great.
I don't know about the SVN
I loaded up MP and could not find a way to check what Version I am running under. Is there a way to find out what Version and SVN I am currently running?

I just went to where you directed me. Do I only download and install the First (top) One (the one below)?

I just unzipped the file, double clicked on (MediaPortal_weekly-snapshot...) and it told me to Delete my (OLD MediaPortal 0.2.3.0).
Do I do that?

There is also a (TV_Server_weekly-snapshot.exe) Is this the one I install only?

Yep, thats the latest, uninstall TVServer from add\remove programs, when asked about removing settings say no.
Install the mediaportal part of the svn, untick the configure now box, finish
Install the new TVServer and plugin (take it this is all on one pc), click on tvserver config, start the tvservice (password MediaPortal)

to use xface, MP config\general use basic home needs to be selected.
General\skins select xface, click ok to close config and save changes.

Now you should be good to go.

From add\remove programs I have MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 but not TVServer .
Do I click remove MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 and then the option (when asked about removing settings say no) comes up?

We are not working on the same installation, sorry i went on what you said above.

If you do not wish to update to MP1.0RC1, then you may have to edit the skin itself to use, as there are quite a few changes since 0.2.3.0

I thought I was loading the latest Version 1.5

References.xml change 3rd line to 0.2.3.0, this is in the xface folder, use notepad to modify, see what happens, sorry not done this so may not work.

Should I just go back to older SVN's and keep updating them until I get to the latest release?
