do some vidio cards decode mpegs faster then others?? (1 Viewer)

As i asked in the title...
Is there any gain from a nvidia 6600 to a 6800 or a 7600 gpu??
I know in 3d the most expensive cards will be better but I would mainly use this pc for digital tv(some hd) and dvd's..

6600GT or above for HD 1080 output playback (smooth).

tried with a 6600LE and it stutters, 720 plays ok though.

As always your choice.

thanks thats the kind of info i wanted...
Is the 7600 better for hd tv then the 6600gt or does it get to a point where it doesnt help decoding but only games?
