I reinstalled MP 1.1.1 in a clean XP pro install of my current HTPC (detailed down here). As expected: it had almost no codecs so I installed the K-Lite codec pack. I've always done this: the last PC worked flawlessly and I only changed it because it was a Celeron with Intel integrated graphics and couldn't cope with 720p.
On the first test, every movie I played, regardless of the filetype or resolution was reproduced in a double side-by-side B&W image, with a green irregular band between both images. Back into XP, the bundled MediaPlayer Classic showed the same, though VLC didn't.
So I made a full uninstall of the Codec Pack. Of course, now MP wouldn't play anything. I downloaded ffdshow and MP kept on giving me the duplicate images regardless of the countless configuration changes I made. WMP, OTOH, displayed every video without any problem.
I've upgraded my system to W7 to give it a try, but I'm afraid the SiS video card is not 100% compatible with W7 (everything's working but MP and XBMC and I won't buy an AGP card for it).
Can anyone helm me solve the double image problem? It's just that: the video is played twice, side-by-side and B/W with a green stripe between the images. And only in MP (XBMC gives me the white screen of death).
Thanks for your help.
