hi i have downloaded mediaportal but on opening the file it unpacks but dissapears no listing at all in temp files program files desktop nowhere yet it did something on opening searched folders in a small box then dissapeared can you help i have installed net 2.0 yet it has not made any differrence

Have you got the "mediaportal_setup_1.0_RC2" file, and it just will not install, or you cannot locate this file on your system.

i have both crrently on my laptop i have dells media direct but i want to change to mediaportal because you can search for an individual track instead of scrolling being a live entertainer i need to switch song choice quickly and need the search facility for requests yet mediaportal file doesnt show up anywhere it unpacked in a dos style box and then nothing else happenned it unpacked in green lettering in the box very fast showed documents/settings type of folders and in an instant it was gone i waited for it to install on my program list and nothing happenned alll that is on my desktop is a microphone symbol but that just unpacks the file again
