download skins - Where to put (1 Viewer)

I've successfully upgraded to 1.1. While configuring I noticed a link for downloading skins, the instructions given are:

Choose and download a skin. If you are unsure what aspect ration to use, please read the description in the glossary. 

Extract the downloaded archive file into a new directory underneath Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\skin\. 

Select the skin in MediaPortal Configuration.

I created the new skin folder as instructed but MP configuration doesn't look at that folder and no way of pointing it too there, where are the default skins stored and how do I setup new ones?

Oh ... that's outdated. Please provide me a link to where you found that.

if you go: Start -> Program files (or similar) -> Team MediaPortal -> MediaPortal -> User Files
... then you should find a folder named "Skin", which already includes the Blue3 and Blue3Wide skins

When you open Media portal Configuration and go to the skins selection under the skins window there's a link for more skins it takes you to:

There's no User Files foulder, I did a search on my PC to see where Blue3 was being stored an I can't find it, any ideas?

What it is called and where it is differ from OS (and MP version), which is why details are always appreciated
