DTS Issues (1 Viewer)

I have to admit that I have no idea what I'm doing sometimes. This is one of those times.

I have LAV audio/video set up in MPC-HC, and when I play videos with DTS I have no problem seeing DTS light up on my receiver for MKV files, but, even though I've selected Lav filters for all of the drop downs in Codecs and Renderers in MediaPortal's Configuration menu, I can't seem to get DTS in MediaPortal itself (with the exception of live TV). In fact, its acting just like my VLC Media Player with media files (no DTS there either).

I know I'm probably doing something wrong on a very simple level, but I'm sort of a noob at all of this, and I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Doing a search brings up tons of results, but I have a hard time sifting through them all . Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I need to take screenshots of anything let me know.

System setup is:

HTPC with Windows 7
Nvidia GTX 460
HDMI out to an Onkyo HT-S5400

Have you enabled this inside the LAV audio codec config (Sart menu Lav filters), bitstreaming.

Actually, no, DTS wasn't selected there (so obvious... I should have thought of that), though after selecting the checkboxes, restarting my PC, and restarting MediaPortal, DTS still wasn't available upon media playback.

Should I run another log file since selecting those checkboxes?

I'm probably reading this wrong...

It looks like you a trying to play a movie called the "The Message"

The audio track is DTS MA (this is HD DTS, not standard DTS), it is switching to use ffdshow audio not LAV

Does your Amp support DTS HD formats? (In theory DTS-MA includes a core DTS format core track, that should still play on none HD amps - but I've had issues with this in the past)

You also have your audio renderer set to be Nvidia, and not the Default Directsound device (not that it should make any difference - but I'd suggest using the DSD, and setting the OS correctly/if required)

Hmm, no, though I do have a rip of that film, I was actually playing an MKV rip that I made of my copy of X-Men: First Class when I created the log file (currently named "title00" I think).

Yes, it does.

I've switched between the two hoping to see if that would make a difference, but it didn't (this was before I selected the DTS checkboxes in the LAV audio configuration). I'll switch it back and see if it makes a difference.

Nope, switching back to Default Direct Sound Device didn't seem to fix the issue.

If you have FFDShow installed, then you get into a conflict area anyway, both LAV and FFDShow use the same libraries, sadly FFDShow gets broken because of many developers putting there own changes in, LAV is done by one guy, who makes sure things do not conflict with each other, I would uninstall one or the other, I know my preference, but then I do not currently output to a amplifier, only tv via hdmi.
