Asside from having problems with MediaPortal not starting on the secondary monitor, I have an issue where MediaPortal seems to minimize when I click on a different window / program while MediaPortal is playing a video. It could be an xvid, an x264 or even video from the tvserver, but if I am just showing the menu, this does not happen. The screen that MediaPortal was on will show the desktop, and the system tray will show the MP icon, and I can still hear the audio playing. If I click the icon in the system tray and select Restore, MP does not come back, and I have to kill it from taskmanager. The only time I was able to restore MP while it was playing a video was when on the main 'My TV" menu where the video is shown to the right of the menu options (not full screen). This did not seem to be the case when playing a video from the "My Videos" section and hitting Esc to see the list and the video was in the little box in the lower left. Click outside of MP still caused it to disappear and I could not get it back without killing and restarting MP. Furthermore, I noticed that if I have a program open on the screen that MP disappeard from, I cannot click on it, as if there was an invisible layer over the screen that MediaPortal is supposed to occupy that is intercepting the clicks. I thought it might have something to do with Aero as when MediaPortal would be playing, the open windows on the secondary monitor would loose their transparency, and when I would click out of MP on the other applications, the transparency would return and MediaPortal would disappear. I've tried disabling Areo but get no better behaviour. In fact, the video started to jitter while playing when Aero ws disabled, so arguably, it was worse. I am using FFDShow-Tryouts (ffdshow_beta4a_rev1723_20071224_clsid.exe) if that might be the issue... One other thing to note, I have my Primary screen set to a 720p projector which is identified as Monitor1 and it is positioned to the RIGHT of Monitor2, a 1280x1024 LCD monitor. Monitor2 is where I have positioned the taskbar and windows sidebar and all icons. In actuality, I want the LCD Monitor to be my Pirmary screen and the projector to be secondary, but MP won't go full screen there unless it's the primary :( Would it behave differently under XP? I really like the sidebar gadgets in Vista, but that is really the only reason I want to use this OS, other than the fact that the MP insall videos shows Vista too. So I guess I could reinstall everything on XP if it would work right.
