Same here

I also have the same DVB-C tuner card and am unable to scan any channels. Media Portal recognises the card, i have a correct transponder list set up yet it just says no signal for every transponder.

The wierd thing is, I did get it to find 246 channels the other day on a test run. But i have since rebuilt my PC and it no longer works. The only thing i can think of that is different this time is that I applied the DVB hotfix as stated in the requirements. I don't know much about the Psisdecd.dll but i do know it has omethign to do with tuning! Can any MP Developers confirm this please?

I am going to do another build this weekend, i will not apply the DVB fix again and will see if this cures the problem. Every where i have looked on the internet people just keep saying its the BDA driver that is the issue.

I will let you know how i get on.

Has anyone out there actually got this card fully working with MP?

Just a quick note to say i did the rebuild over the weekend and registered the older Psisdecd.dll. I also installed MDAPI 2008 and used the 1.2.3.8 bda driver. I managed to get MP to scan, but only intermittently. It only found 56 channels. Even though some of these channels worked, i couldn't always get it to find any channels on most scans.

I will give the 1.2.3.6 driver a go and see if thats any better. How many channels did you manage to find using this driver? Also what network are you scanning for? I'm Telewest (6952), but have very little joy using the built in MP transponder file. Even my custom Bruteforce file doesn't seem to find anything.

If i have no joy i might switch to DVB-S, things seem a little more stable on that side.

I agree with you Project2051, i don't think that is for our card. Whats the difference with the Mantis type? I've heard people have been successful with the FireDTV DVB-C card, but dont really want to spend £130 on a card and have the same difficulties.

Have any of the MP Developers out there had any joy using DVB-C cards???????

What Transponder list are you using? You selecting a pre-defined one or creating your own? Will do a clean install with new drivers and give it a try. Getting to point now where seriously considering sticking with terrestrial and maybe having a play with DVB-S.

ireland.belfast or uk 6887 with version 1.0 install i just use 1.2.3.8 bda
and when u do manual scan
transponder it can find the rest you just need one transponder
but there is also a telwest one but thats not my area
you need to scan for your area

When i do a manual scan, it always says X amount of transponders found. But the X amount is always the amount of transponders listed in the last scanned pre-defined transponder list dropdown.

I'll try doing a manual scan without selecting scan pre-defined first. I have found a list of ther exact transponders for my area (Preston) so if i have no joy will try and force that one.

You state above you used 1.2.3.8 bda driver? Is this correct? I thought you were haviong problems with this so was using the 1.2.3.6 driver?
