    Hi All

Finished setting up a clean install of TVE3 + RC3 this morning, all epg info updating fine except for the new channel "Dave" (everyone knows a Dave).

As this is coming through ok on my DVB TV epg, wondering if,

    A. no one is receiving it.

    B. Just me.

Always good to know if somethings are elite to your setup.

    Thanks

    Hi Guys,

Do you just use the programme guide which is transmitted with each channel? How have you set that up? I am trying to use the webepg but I think its overly complicated to setup. How many days programmes do you get with this method? Did you just check the box which says "grab epg from dvb" and nothing else? Does the TV guide update when you first enter it?

Maybe I dont need to use the webepg?

    Cheers,
    Colin

    Sorry, missed your post.

Have got dvb info upto the 31\10, and absolutely nothing for 1\11, so pretty much a weeks worth.

WebEPG needs to be updated completely to work with TVE3 and some channel updates, otherwise it is very good at getting 14 day epg.

its not the number of days that im too worried about. Its more how you guys grab your epg. Have you just selected grab from DVB stream? or do you use web epg grabber?

I use RC3 with standard tv engine (tv2).

Basically do i need to use the web epg grabber or can i just select the grab from dvb stream?

I have a problem with HDD access as well. When i run MP and just leave it sometimes the hard drive goes mad for about 10 mins. When i look at the log it seems to co-incide with a tvdatabase update entry. I wondered if you use just the grab from epg stream whether this happens or not?

    Cheers,
    Colin

That is using the epg grab from dvb stream option in TVE3, you have to change the timeout setting to 12 to get it to work though.

I had the same problem when I updated to RC3. I downgraded to RC2 and the problem went away. Maybe you could try that?

    Hi guys,

Will try just leaving it on tv engine 2, but with only grabbing from the tv stream. I will see if that also solves the heavy HDD access when i start mp. I think its caused by updating the tvdababse file?

Einstein, I also had this problem on RC2. It started somewhere around when the SVNs introduced changes to how the radio worked i think. Its very strange but never crashes, just manic hdd access for about 10 mins.

    Cheers,

    Colin
