Hi I want to configure my HTPC to use a PCI DVB-S card to receive Austar pay TV.
Is there any one out there who has a DVB-S PCI card working with media portal and configured to receive Austar pay TV?

If so what card and CAM are you using?

cheers
Mal

Well no one else has replied to this thread so I will reply myself.

I went ahead and bought a Twinhan DVB-S CI (1034 Mantis) card from www.eyo.com.au (great service very friendly) it arrived the next morning.

Plugged it into my PC in which I also have installed a fusion DVB-T plus from Dvico
installed and guess what. The twinhann card wont work while the Fusion card is installed.

Does anyone have one of these Twinhan cards installed alongside a DVB-T card and if so what type is it.

Cheers Slipery.

I've got one Dvico, one DNTV live card AND the Twinhan DVB-S card running under Windows XP without any problems.. I'm using the Twinhan for 'SelectTV'
I know there is a patch around to fix the DVB card limitation in WINXP.. but I haven't installed it.

Slippery, have you tried the patch?.. I'll try to hunt down the thread it was discussed in, if you need it.

Also ran a Dvico dual with a lifeview Duo, no problems.

If there is another PCI slot, try moving card, if not try swopping them.

Dave I had previously totaly missed the line in the OS section stating only 1 DVB card supportd.

GagReflex I havent installed the patch that you mention would this be it http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896626 ? If not would love to find out which one.

Tried swaping the cards but made no difference

Cheers guys thanks again to all

That's the one, personally with all MS updates on XP pro, do not seem to have to install, but maybe I'm unique (or maybe installed with card software).

    Slipery,

How did you go with it? Did you manage to get it to work?

I am currently battling with a 1030A Twinhan card for use with Select TV. The card is setup and tuning to the channels, but it has trouble recording . It usually stops recording prior to the end of the scheduled recording.

Pass on any tips you may have.

    Cheers

    Hey GagReflex,
Have you got one of these TwinhanDTV Sat-CI (1034 Mantis) cards?

Are you using it for irdeto? What cam are you using? How well does it go? any problems at all? Recording etc? I'm thinking of getting one of these but I want to know it's gonna work well and not be flaky before I shell out the NZ$200!
