Thinking it was the bios on the motherboard contacted supplier and they sent me a version 62 bios which was zipped, mine was 61. When I unzipped it found it was really ver 61 anyway. So bought an IDE adaptor board to plug in to that precious pci slot and found it wouldnt recognise the drives either. Bought a 3rd HD and it was recognised by MB and adaptor board so proved I had bought 2 faulty drives. Returned to supplier after a lot of emails and fimnally received new HD today.</p><p></p><p>Anyway I had continued to persevere with install with the 3rd HD while waiting for the return of the 2 WD hard drives. </p><p>After I Install Windows XP home edition upgraded to SP2 and downloaded all hot fixes</p><p>installed some utilitie, Adobe reader, Filzip, and tight VNC.</p><p>then followed the requirements laid down by </p><p> <a href="http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/MediaPortalRequirements" target="_blank">http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/MediaPortalRequirements</a></p><p>which are</p><p>install .net 1.1</p><p>install .net 1.1 sp1</p><p>install .net 2.0</p><p>install media player v10</p><p>insert fusion cd</p><p>install fusion hdtv</p><p>check device manager no question marks</p><p>installed rollup 2 ( I am using MCE keyboard and remote)</p><p>followed thread at <a href="https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mce_remote_keyboard_xp_home-t4589.html?t=4589" target="_blank">https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mce_remote_keyboard_xp_home-t4589.html?t=4589</a> </p><p>becuase I am using home edition</p><p></p><p>install media portal 0.2.2 {unable to graph device} error on running setup</p><p></p><p>checked forums problem with dvico driver3.60</p><p>Apparently on my previous install I had upgraded the Dvico driver to the latest then available. ( I had forgotten this even though it usually is a good idea to use latest drivers). First and foremost keep a journal of all steps taken as you procede with the install. This well help with reinstall at a latter date.</p><p>2. Keep a copy of the modified files that you make eg capturecarddefinitions.xml and any others webepg configuration file for example.</p><p>3. Use latest drivers but there can still be problems. DVICO for example only make available thier latest driver with no access to previous drivers that I could find.</p><p>4.
