Ok :) I just decided I would change my setup - I currently have six coax cables coming down three floors to the living room which is daft: moving the TV server up to the attic will tidy this up for me.

Thanks @mm1352000 I thought that is how it worked. I currently have two outlets in the wall and then run a switch from there to feed the server. I'm going to follow any progress with Sat>IP with enthusiasm as it looks awesome!

Until we move to internet based TV fully (not going to happen here in NZ anytime soon given the nature of our connections, just look at the crap Premier League Pass puts out) Sat TV is here to stay!

    JonM,

Wont the lovely Welsh weather either get a bit warm...or cold and damp for a Server in the loft???

When I say attic it's actually a room up there, with windows, and the roof is insulated. So it doesn't get hot like a normal attic, which I agree would be a bad place for a PC.
