This problem is sorted out now, I should have read all the info avaialble on the net before posting... On the DVB-S setting page (where you have the 4 fields for 4 different LNBs) there is a parameter called LNB Switch Frequency LNBSW. It works like this: when you try to tune to a transponder with a frequency higher than the value you put in there, then the "switch" is activated (the 22kHz tone is generated). example: you have two LNBs (like I do) for the satellites Optus D2 at 152E and Optus D1 at 160 deg E (Freeview NZ). Optus D1 (160E) - 12456H and 12483H Optus D2 (152E) - 12734V I set the LNBSW parameter to 12700 and the LNB for Optus D2 is connected to the "22kHz ON" connection of the switch (this is important and it is marked on the tone switch itself). It did a successful scan right away, finding all the channels I was after, on both satellites. I also changed the config files for these two satellites to remove the transponders I do not need, which shiortens the scanning time a lot but this is not critical. The above LNBSW parameter is mentioned in a post by mcraenz, I cannot find the link right now but I feel that I should mention that as that expalined what I was doing wrong. The "band" field has to match your type of LNB (C, Ku, etc). For the sattellites mentioned above, the band is Ku. I hope this helps.
