DVD Images do play via Mediaportal (1 Viewer)

I have just begun to use Mediaportal and think it is superb. All DVD's work fine with the exception of some that come from the BBC in the UK. The ISO images actually work fine in the player on its own but when selected vai MP the image mounts fine and the first section plays fine. When the Menu section arrives I can hear the audio but not see the video - the space bar pauses the video etc but I need to do an amount of stopping and starting then hit the return key for the image to appear. As I say the same image runs perfectly in the internal and an external player. I understand these to be DVD9 discs but not sure this is important as the images run OK.
Any solutions or suggestions welcome.

Thanks for the rapid reply - but I am not sure what this means I should do. Can you give some more details - I have tried installing ffdshow codecs and selected them within the MP DVD Codecs section but cannot see what to do with the DVD Navigator option as there is only one item in the list to select. The DVD image still goes blank until the full intro screen has run then if I press the Return key I may get access to select the programme to play.

Try installing the trial version of Powerdvd and then select it as Navigator AND as Video codec. Use ffdshow as Audio decoder.

    Power DVD solution

Many thanks for the suggestion - worked a treat - only difference was that the Navigator option stayed the same as a new entry was not added - thanks for the help

I have this problem as long as I can remember. Also tried with different combination of DVD/Cyberlink Menu and codecs.

    Here what I've found:
    1. With MP's default DVD Menu all DVDs can be played BUT for some DVD (let call these DVDs for DVD-A) you can't navigate. The DVD menu/root tittle does display but you can't see any selector narrow. So it's harder to select chapter or select subtittle from the menu.
    2. With Cyberlink DVD Menu you can watch DVD-A and use root tittle as normal, but now some other DVDs can't be watched, you end up with black screen once they start. Using context menu (F9) and force root title won't help and you are stuck at the blank screen.

So I end up using MP's default DVD Menu, some menus are broken but at least I can watch all my ripped DVDs.

    -----------------------------------
Just in case, here are my test setup:
    1. MP's default DVD Menu with MPA and MPV. Also tried with ffdshow and with Cyberlink Codec.
    2. Cyberlink DVD Menu with Cyberlink Video Decoder (PDVD7.x) and Cyberlink Audio Decoder (PDVD7.x), also tried with MPA, MPV and ffdshow.

Both settings are tested with "Turn off DxVA"
