    Hi all,

I have an issue with playing a certain dvd (Joe Bonamassa, Live from the Royal Albert Hall) which doesn't happen with other dvd's: the top & the bottom of the image is 'scrambled' for about 1cm in height (complete width of the screen).
It contains 2 disks and also happens on the second.
Playing them on my desktop with VLC does not have this problem.

SAF 4 is installed with the settings as mentioned in the guide (ffdshow video decoder selected)

Does any of you have a clue what might be wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help on this!

    Peter

Hi hoborg, thanks for looking into this matter!

I didn't try SAF v5 yet, would that make a difference?

Just took a windows screenshot but to past/transfer them did not go that well, so here is an attempt.
In both of them, you see at the bottom some area in which the image is not correct and in screen2 you also see the drummer his hair is a little bit displaced.
In those areas, the image flickers annoyingly.

Well, under Codecs and Renderer -> DVD Discs/Image Codecs -> DVD video decoder, I have selected 'ffdshow Video Decoder'.
I guess this is the right field concerned watching dvd's, no?

In the past I have tried SAF 5 but due to some issues I went back to v4.
I will give it a try and post back.

Hi hoborg, I just installed SAF5 after uninstalling SAF4 and the result is even worse. :(
I have configured ffdshow for both video and audio decoder in the 'DVD Discs/Imges Codecs' tab

Make sure FFDShow is really in use durning DVD playback - there will be FFDshow icons in system tray.
BTW, if play DVD inside MPC-HC installed by SAF - same issue?
I am suspect your old GPU doesn't like NV12 output (HW deinterlacing).
