[confirm] dvd player forgets settings? (1 Viewer)

In previous releases there was a bug where the dvd player forgot the time settings at shutdown. The next time Mediaportal is started and I choose dvd playback the dvd always starts from the beginning, including the non skippable content.

I believe I found this in the bugtracker as: 0002723: [DVD Player] Can only play DVD once (MrHipp) - closed.

This was fixed in RC2. But in RC3 and RC4 this problem appears again. I had to revert to RC2 and this way Mediaportal correctly asks for "start from beginning / resume at ..:..?" when I start dvd playback.
In the config for DVD I have the "Autoplay DVD" set to "Ask every time a DVD is inserted".
To be certain I did a compete cleanup and reinstall of mediaportal RC3 and RC4.

Am I the only one with this problem? Do you need more information and/or logs? Or is this something which you guys simply forgot?

Well, since it is in Mantis as fixed, then at some point it was fixed. Another fix may have broken it.

This does not seem to be mantis 2723. That was a problem if you tried to play a DVD twice without quitting MP.

And we do need more information, particularly the logs. These are ALWAYS needed.

Sorry if this seems like a rant. I seem to spend half my time on the forums deleting bug report without logs, and the other half asking for logs to be posted!

No problem with you asking for logs. Since this is my first "Real Problem" posted here I will have to delve deeper into how to get logs. i will have some time this weekend.
I have my system set up as a dual boot, so you will get logs from me from RC4 on a Win7 system. On my other disk I went back to RC2 on XP.
The fault seems to appear on both xp and Win7.

Ok, tried this at work on my pc. Logs included.

Dell with:
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 @2.33GHz
- Mem: 2Gig.
- XP SP3 with latest updates.
- ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro, Catalyst control center ver 2010-0302.2233.40412
- Dual monitor setup
- MediaPortal RC4

Did the following:
- start xp + mediaportal
- "play disc"
- fast forward to about 15 minutes and let it play for some time.
- pause
- back to home schreen
- close MediaPortal

next:
- start xp + mediaportal
- "play disc"
at this point the disc plays from the beginning instead of the point where I pressed "pause".

In RC2 when choosing "play disc" I get the choise between start from the beginning or continue at **.**
Stable version 1.0.2 also had this behaviour if I remember well.

Tomorrow you'll get 3 or more logs from my other computers.

At home this time...

on Win7 I encounterd an error with the logs collector, I changed then to XP compatibility. I hope the logs are OK.


OK, I ran the debugger, started Mediaportal, played DVD, pressed Stop. Logs were collected.

Afterwards I started the debugger again and repeated above all over. Logs collected again.
