DVD Player (1 Viewer)

hi,

Just started using MediaPortal and so far I love it except for the UI for controlling films etc, I've got around it with the films for now by using VLC, but not yet for the DVD's as I can't get VLC to work as the DVD Player.. Can anyone help me with the parameters section for VLC?

Avoiding your question, can I ask why not using the internal player?
Moving pictures is a nice plugin for films.

On my setup, nothing wrong with internal DVD player.

Hi,

There are a couple of reasons I don't like the built in player....
At the moment I am only using a wireless mouse and keyboard - no remote...
1. From the mouse I can't alter the volume
2. From the keyboard or the mouse I can't seem to skip forward to a certain part - in VLC for example I can drag the slider across to any point I like...

Where can I get MPlayer from and does it need any configuration to run on MediaPortal?

There is a plugin for mplayer here. But looks like it is for RC3 and not fr v1.0 final. You did not give any system/software specs.

Then back to promoting internal video player again
You can set up your own skip-steps in configuration. Every press of the right arrow will jump to the next skip step.
You can also enter a 4 digit time where you want to jump to. Example 0020 will jump to 20 minutes into the video.

Specs are latest availble from the site - think its V1.0.0.4RC?
PC wise its running on a Dell OptiPlex 740 with 1.5GB Ram, 2.4 AMD CPU....

How can I control the volume using the builtin player?

Latest version is V1.0 Final. Released Monday.
