This is what you can do. There's probably a better way, but this will work.
Goto the DVICO remote setup and create a new profile (I called mine MediaPortal). Then for this profile map the remote buttons to the corresponding keyboard shortcut keys. I.e. map the stop button on the remote to the letter B. You should be able to get the important functions in 10-15 minutes.
The above solution will work excellent for MediaPortal.
If for some reason you want to control other applications with your DVICO remote , I just added support for DVICO remotes in Intelliremote and there is a dvico.xml profile included which maps all the buttons of the DVICO remote. You would then just need to changed the keys it sent to the MediaPortal shortcuts if you wanted to or ITunes or any other app. Just thought I would mention it.
