Hi there,

How do I set up the analogue input source on my Dvico DVB-T Dual within MP? This is where I have my Foxtel coming in...

Also, I have had a look at the analogue source (using the Fusion HDTV software that came with the card) and the Foxtel picture is rubbish... Is there any way I can improve it?

Cheers,
smeghead

ive sadly has the exact same issues as you smeghead.
Tried it with the fusion app and its almost like analog tv, fuzzy and crap in comparision to the normal signal you get. Not sure if the problem lies with the inputs which i think it is. The other catch is that the software part of the card that handles this isn't supported by Media portal anymore so you can add that part into your tv setup, i think the best solution if you really wanted to do this , would be to find a good hardware card to accept the incoming signal and try and get it to be supported in media portal, so you can get a clearer image

mulva: what version of MP are you running... I thought that MP have stopped supporting software encoding that the dvico dual uses for analogue... I was about to give up and buy a dedicated analogue card purely for foxtel...

If this is the case, any suggestions on which card is good for this?

Is the Hauppage PVR-150MCE the best bet?

I'm using MP 0.1.3 at the moment. I started off with 0.2 RC4 but I was told that there is no support for software cards in the latest version.

So, consequently, I have .Net 1.1, latest Dvico DVB-T drivers, etc., etc.

Did you read my last post on the thread? Software support is available so long as you get all of the relevant information available and send to dman_lfc. That's my next avenue if I can't get any further. This weekend is do or die.

As far as which card is best, I really can't say since I'm determined to get the analog input working. Spending more money is like getting F**tel IQ...something very disagreeable. :?

Yeah, fair enough... I just have a bad feeling that I will go to all the effort of getting the divco analogue working only to find the PQ to be garbage... as I said originally, with the fusion software, I can see the analogue signal coming out of my pace box and it looks rubbish... I mean really ordinary.... 'can't watch it' ordinary.

So hopefully I will kill two birds by getting a dedicated card...

To tell you the truth, I haven't checked out the actual signal quality. I'll do that this weekend as well. You've worried me now.

Is svideo any better? Did you try to use a SCART to svideo adapter for the Pace box? I've got one of the UEC ones.

I am only using scart to composite... I haven't tried s-video (don't have a scart to s-video... maybe you can let me know how that goes...

ps. what sort of display do you have?

I only have a standard tube TV. I'm not upgrading until I get this stuff working.

This MP machine is going to be the capture server, I'm then going to have small MP machines around the house (family room, parents retreat) that will act as clients. I have a spare couple of low-end PC's ready for the task.

Ahh, you might be ok then... I have a fairly high end plasma and you can really see the poor quality... (something to do with a comb filter for NTSC/PAL)... So it might be perfect on a CRT
