I have just today started looking at getting a DVICO FusionRemote going with IR Server Suite, without too much success at the moment.

I have installed IR Server Suite, and select the FusionRemote in the Input Service Configuration. Auto-detect does not seem to detect the remote, as it clears the check box if I check it manually, and the input service log indicates that it cannot detect the device.

There is not much in the help files with respect to what needs to be configured in MediaPortal itself, but I have nothing checked under the remote section (should I have?) and the MP Control Plugin for IR Server is enabled.

Do I need to configure anything else? Should the FusionRemote transceiver software from DVICO be running or not?

interesting, is this the USB DViCo FusionRemote?

Is it the big black one that has all the mce buttons, or the small one?

You'll need to disable the dvico remote software.

I've got two fusion remotes (both kinds as far as I know) because I have two dvico cards...

We'll get to the bottom of this.

    Cheers,

It's the big black MCE style one. Not sure if it is USB - the IR receiver plugs in to the DVICO FusionHDTV Pro tuner card using a 3.5 jack, so possibly not. Perhaps that is the problem?

It's not a problem if I can't get this going with DVICO. I've actually been referred over here by cybrmage. My "real" HTPC uses the IMON VFD, and I can't get it to work properly with cybrmage's external display plugin. The VFD itself works fine, it's just that every time the driver for the display starts it kills the remote. So I was actually looking for an alternative driver for the IMON remote, so I can get rid of IMON Manager, and I was just familiarising myself with IR Server on another test machine that had the DVICO tuner and remote.

So unless there's a quick answer, don't worry too much about the DVICO (unless you need the added challenge ;) ). At least you've confirmed that I should not need to load any of the transceiver software that came with it. I'll have a crack at the IMON setup over the weekend.

Have a go at the Imon, it's still early days for Imon support in IR Server Suite but we're making really good progress and I'm sure it wont be long before we have really good support for it.

As for the DViCo remote, I only have the separate USB receiver models. I don't have the on-card 3.5mm jack version. I wish I did have one because I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to get it working too. I'll crack open the installer and see if I can find the dll that is responsible for communicating with the on-card version.

I'll get back to you if I figure it out.

    PS. Nice Avatar pic.

Thanks and-81.... have done the testing cybrmage was after with the HID Test program for the IMON pad and posted in his external display thread. I'll keep watching both threads, and if you need anything tested, let me know.

As I said, don't stress about the DVICO.... it really was about just trying to understand how IR Server worked and what it was supposed to do. It was just the hardware I had available to easily muck around with. My real interest is in the iMON support, and it is great to see there is an alternative to iMON Manager.

I'll give the current version of IRServer a go with iMON on my HTPC, but I'm assumming the work you're doing with cybrmage is aimed at making some big improvements / changes available soon?

Yes Cybrmage helping me out with some great work. We're trying to make IR Server Suite a viable alternative to the standard Imon software.

I'd say we are only a few days to a week away from having a reliable solution.

    Watch this space :)

PS. I am going to try to get the DVICO remote with the 3.5mm jack to work anyway ... I'm on a mission now :)

    Cheers,

    Any update?

I am having the same issue. I have just looked at setting up the fusion remote with the 3.5 plug and IR Server does not detect the remote and also says in the log that it fails when I manually select. It works fine with the fusion software but I don't want to go down that path if I can help it.
