Hi Guys,

I already installed mediaportal and everything is working fine. I have a Windows XP SP2 machine with an ATI-TV-Wonder-Elite card.

Currently all videos are recorded using DVR-MS format. How I set up mediaportal to do not record with this proprietary format and use MPEG instead?

Also, the software which comes with the TV card, records using MPEG.

Another question: which is the best open source tool available to edit videos? Like, for example, trimming commercials.

Thanks in advance

TVEngine 3 is required to record mpeg or TS, the ordinary MYTV uses Microsofts format.

MP has it's own editor built in under plugin's.

    Hi PD,

Thanks for your post. I was checking at this site and I found that TVEngine 3 is still on beta release. I'd rather prefer any stable version.

Anyway I will keep my eyes at this site in order to download the final release in the future.

    Thanks

The whole app is still in Beta, but the TV engine is very stable for most.
If you prefer the TV engine v2 (since you have it working already) I think the "MyBurner" plugin can be set to auto convert the DVRMS to MPG on completion of recording. I haven't used this for quite a while, but it used to work that way.
