Hi
I have a very annoying problem. The best codec regarding picture quality and framerate for HDTV (dvb-s2) is cyberlink with DXVA enabled. But for some reason the codec hangs my computer, not even a BSOD, just a compleatly hang! Seems to be the graphic driver that crash and a reboot is the only way out.
Tried PDVD10 and the Cyberling H.264 driver that was bundled with my Terratech card, same for both. Updated the nvidia driver as soon a new version is out several times, still the same problem.

It can actually work for days, then all of a sudden the computer hangs. I think it happens when the signal gets weak and there is some noice in the stream.

So for now i'm stuck with coreAVC (fps all over the place and not as sharp in quality as cyberlink).

So please! Anyone who has any idea?

Regards

Have you tried the Microsoft DTV decoder or maybe the ffdshow DXVA decoder?

Any DXVA decoder (if running in full bitstream mode) should give identical quality.

MS DTV decoder shutters for BBCHD and SVTHD and shows green flashes (vbr?), for other HD-channels it works for a while until the computer hangs just like it does with the cyberlink decoder. ffdshow DXVA refuses to start for some unknown reason:) Media portal just starts the previous used codec instead.

I found out that the Arcsoft codec actually looks better than Core AVC and has a better framerate(!). It has a higher CPU usage due to software decoding but no computer crashes.. Good enough for me I think.

But the DVXA problem is still annoying...
