I haven't been able to find something on this, but since I got DVB-C and started "abusing" the support for viewing everything on the same MUX, with only one tuner, I thought about this.

Right now, It can be kind of hard to find out excactly what channels are actually available. If I open the channellist, I can see which are and aren't but if I browse the TVguide, there is no way of knowing.

Would it be possible to have a Group of channels that only contained the channels currently available and have this change dynamically?

Right now this is not a big issue for me, since I only have 1 DVB-C tuner (and then 1 DVB-T, but here I only have 1 MUX, and knows all the channels), but I could easily imagine this being usefull in setups where there are multiple tuners, some with the same channels even scattered across diferrent tuner-types.

Is this something that could be of any use to others?

Another thing could be to just show it in the Guide which channels are unavailable. Perhaps have red line "Cross out" the channels that are not free.

It would be good if certain channels, or better yet, programmes were greyed out/disabled (or some visual indicator) if they were unavailable (as all cards busy).

However this is less of a problem for me as I now have 4 tuners.

The problem might not be big, but it just seems to me that it is such a strange thing, not to have included. Somehow the code must be there already, since it is working in the channel-list - surely it can't be that hard to also do this for the TVguide.
