eHome infrared tranceiver issue plz help (1 Viewer)

i have win 7 64 bit on my laptop. i use Media center on it to watch movies etc on it with my MCE remote. 2 days back my ir receiver plugged in via usb stopped working (no lights blinking). i tried 3 other usb ports nothing, also there is no entry of ehome infrared tranceiver or unknown device etc in the device manager. so i cleaned my win 7 and re-installed win 7 but still the driver is not installed in device manager. i plugged in the ir receiver still not picked up. im stuck what should i do i have tried everything on different forums nuthing working out. plz help

Do the usb sockets work with other usb devices, if they do, then you have a faulty receiver.
