Embedded subtitles (1 Viewer)

I have a few foreign language films which i have ripped to mkv (using MakeMKV) with embedded 'forced' subtitles. i have checked the rips in VLC and they play fine, but when i try to play them in MediaPortal the subtitles don't show. i have checked that subtitles are enabled in settings, i have tried both options (directvobsub and mpc) but neither work. as i use ffdshow dxva decoder for h.264 and vc1 i have made sure subtitles are checked and that embedded subs is enabled in both the dxva decoder and the standard ffdshow video configuration tools.

but still no subtitles in MediaPortal.

i can't think what else to try?

i had a look at that thread and downloaded the file mpcSubs.zip. it has a dll file inside but i have no idea where to put it? i read the first couple of pages of that thread for a hint but it all seems to relate to Media Player Classic and i don't use that. as i said in the original post i am using the FFDShow DXVA and audio decoders.

can someone explain it to me in words of one syllable please? thanks :)

It's a fix for Mediaportal tp play subtitles in MKV format.
Just put the dll file in the mediaportal folder= c:\program files\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal and overwrite any existing file.
I works for me.
