I'm a bit stuck here, and wanted to post a question to see if anyone had an idea that might be a bit deeper than what I've tried.
I've been running into a problem with getting the TV to work through my svid port on my capture card. After driver reinstalls, MP reinstalls, and such, I started to dig deeper and really figure out what was going on. At the suggestion of another member during a PM convo, I installed DScaler, as the Dscaler software works with graphedit while watching TV, whereas the WinTV software from hauppauge does not.
Dscaler works just fine, and in fact produces the same graph that is in the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file. I ran graph edit against both MP and Dscaler to see the differences... They're both the same at the beginning:
Hauppauge 418 Tv Tuner->Hauppauge 418 crossbar->Hauppauge 418 capture...
From here they separate into two different directions, because DScaler sends the video to the screen, and MP wants to encode it to record to the HD. MP then sends the capture "656" pin to the Hauppauge 418 Encoder, which is then supposed to go to the Mpeg-2 Demultiplexer. This doesn't work. I figured this out from the infamous error message in the MP log file:
FAILED to connect encoder->mpeg2 demuxer
After fiddling around a bit more, this is what I've found will fix it. If I boot up MP, and open graph edit and connect to the MP graph while MP is on the home screen, I will get all of the filters, and just like MP says, the encoder and MPG2 demultiplexer are not connected. If I MANUALLY connect them at this point, it works, and I can go watch TV.
I'm just not understanding why MP will not connect the Encoder and Demultiplexer on boot, although I can manually go and drag the pins together. Any thoughts would be awesome. Thanks you guys.
