EPG on demand (1 Viewer)

Is there a way to make mediaportal do "EPG on demand"?

Currently EPG is downloaded to mediaportal before usage, but what about downloading it when you are using? So you open the guide and mediaportal downloads needed EPG.

Pros:
+ you will always have fresh EPG data
+ you won't have to wait for mediaportal to download epg for example when you come from vacation and HTPC was turned off.

Cons:
- Browsing the EPG may be slower

Possible to update Guide with :
- directly when you look Guide TV or when you start MP and guide is empty
- with an remote mapped to update guide
