Does Episodes Management work in TVE3?

Since upgrading to TVE3 6 weeks ago I have been unable to get it to work, no matter what settings I have when creating an advanced recording eg Record everday on this channel & keep 1 episode, all episodes remain and older ones are never deleted I have to do it manually.

For example I record the news everyday and only want to keep one episode which I may or may not watch latter but once the next day's news is recorded I have no further use for the previous day so I want the old one deleted this worked well in TVE2.

I haven't had a chance yet to investigate and check what's in the logs but I just want to know does it work in TVE3 if so I can then investigate.
