I'm running newest svn build (0.2.3.0 4-8). Running Vista w/ sp1 x86.
I have installed IR Server Suite, MCE Replacement Driver, and MCE Replacement Plugin.
After installing the Plugin, when I go into configuration, and select 'plugins' I am getting the following error:
plugsinerrir1.jpg

Here is my log: general pastebin - Stuff - post number 989003

Also, I initially tried the newer non-driver method (where you remove the 3 or 4 lines from regedit, but that did not make my remote work with MP [did i still need the plugin with that method?])

-----EDIT---------------
I removed everything, and did the regedit fix, using MS eHome driver. I then just reinstalled MP w/ SVN, and MCE Plugin...all is good now :)

    ok,

Firstly, you can't run MCE Replacement Plugin and IR Server Suite at the same time. IR Server Suite has a plugin in it called MP Control Plugin, this is the equivalent of MCE Replacement Plugin but for IR Server Suite.

I'd say that what has happened is this:

You installed IR Server Suite first, then you installed MCE Replacement Plugin and it overwrote the common files (namely IrssUtils.dll). The version of MCE Replacement Plugin is not the same as IR Server Suite and therefore causes problems.

Try uninstalling both and just reinstalling the one you want.

    Cheers,

I have this same error. I had a working IR server install, installed RC1, now I have this error?

How do I get it working again, I've made so many changes to skins plugins and files that I really want to salvage my initial mediaportal install now re-do it all again.

    Thanks

A re-install of IR Server Suite should do it. The missing assembly will (should) be copied back in place. If that doesn't work then search your hard disk and find IrssComms.dll and delete it wherever you see it, then re-install.

Thanks for the help, in the end I just went for reinstalling MP. The installer for IR server never seemed to see that MP was installed, I couldnt select to install plugins or anything. Its working fine since this though so alls good. I have posted in the main thread about creating custm remote maps, could I trouble you for some help on the issue?
