When I have this option turned on I'm unable to use an external player for movie playback (in my case zoomplayer). When I first start MP and go to play a movie it works fine. But if watch TV, and then switch back to view a movie because zoomplayer never gets focus, and in fact I think it crashes since I never see a zp window open when I exit MP.
The results of this is I cannot use MP for both TV and movie watching without restarting MP.
I seem to need DirectX mode on for TV playback (HD through an Vbox ATSC tuner) cannot playback smoothly. I get video tearing - a horizontal tear that moves from the bottom of the screen to the top over and over again. DirectX mode plays back HDTV nice and smooth. But once I'm done watching live TV, timeshift, or a TV recording it stays in DirectX mode - windows taskbar cannot be opened, no other program can gain focus etc. If MP would drop out of DirectX mode once a TV file is finished, I think this would work.
Anybody else experience this? Is this a bug in MP, or a DirectX flaw?
