FYI: that option means that the program map table (PMT - the table with details about the video, audio, subtitles etc.) PID is always grabbed from the stream rather than from the database when you tune a channel. That might be slightly slower, but it is sometimes necessary for channels where the broadcaster changes the PMT PID regularly. The alternative solution is to rescan often.

Tony, when i press the pause button during LiveTV and again to resume is that part of your tsreader code too?

    Greetings,

    Wouter

All the filter graph components receive/process the 'pause' command (from MP player code via the windows filter graph manager) - are you having problems with it ?

    Tony

Yes i have seen issues where i pressed pause on LiveTV, the screensaver kicked in, and after let's say 20min when i press the pause button again LiveTV is resumed but the OSD is still visible. Pressing play makes it disappear.
Have to investigate this further but after i went back to 1.2.2 version i am under the impression that i didn't see this again the last week.
I installed 41 version now and will check it.

f.y.i. i gave up on the mpaudiorenderer sync issue i reported earlier and went back to mpa audio decoder with s/pdiff out for ac3 LiveTV.

If there is a real problem, it's almost certainly in the main part of MP or the skin - TsReader.ax doesn't have any direct connection with the OSD etc

Running v41 at the moment and I seem to be getting the odd problem were the stream seems to get stuck and then jump/catchup and the sound goes funny. It only lasts about 1-2 seconds each time. I don't think I ever experienced anything like it before v41. This happened just before I made the logs, so about 23:34. Other times the sounds just drops out for about 1 second.

I have just recently reinstalled Windows 7 and MP, but I'd expect that to make things better if anything.

Thanks i needed that confirmation, i think it's in the new Fritzboxmanager plugin. Reverted to earlier version fixed it i guess, pressed pause and waited half an hour and pressed pause again and normal playback.
Have watched a few hours and no discontinues with v41, looks fine so far.

Look at the TsWriter & TsReader logs yourself - you just have some continuity errors - probably bad signal reception.....

    Tony,

I just saw something strange. I from time to time check the discontinuities during testing and just yet these went sky high in a few minutes. 3005 discontinuities.
But the strange thing is, i saw nothing strange in the picture. i just ran great and normal motion, no corruption. The reception is fine the whole evening.
    Logs included.

    Greetings,

    Wouter

Update: I saw lot's of "MultiFileWriter: failed to create file E:\Timeshift\live2-1.ts.tsbuffer1.ts" in the tswriter logs, and after that discontinuities. I have an Solid State Disk for OS+Timeshift so speed is no issue. Maybe other file creation configuration is needed?

Update2: Tony, forget it, i saw the issue. My girlfriend is watching on the MP client in the bedroom and left it on for hours. The 7 files of 1GB were to many in TV server configuration, because this is valid for every client. And my client just went out of space and had no space left i guess. Total=8.5GB on that partition.
Sorry to have bothered you with this.

You say "probably bad signal reception" so I assume that means other things can cause continuity errors.

Anyway, I didn't have this strange problem with the sound getting stuck and then sounding like some sort of Max Headroom glitch before. It guess it could be the LAV decoder, as I haven't got round to installing SAF again yet so I'm using LAV rather than ffdshow for audio at the moment (still MS decoder for TV video).

The issue where the sound drops out for about a second has plagued me for ages though and I don't think it's due to bad signal as I don't get any picture corruption when it happens.

I guess I'll have to try recording what I'm watching and then I'll be able to see if I can reproduce the problems on playback or if they only happen live.
