Since installing MediaPortal 1.0.2.0 two weeks ago, I have been receiving frequent Explorer crashes requesting an explorer restart. These seem to occur more frequently after opening a file window and always after return from standby. I'm getting 10 -20 crashes per day.

I am using Vista SP2 with the latest updates. Googling this error points to a problem with a codec and the recommended solution was to inactivate the file Mpeg2DecFilter.ax by renaming it or by using the InstalledCodec v1.06 app to disable it. I found the file in question at C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal.

I am reluctant to disable the file lest MediaPortal (which I have quickly grown to love) stops working. Can someone from this forum recommend a course of action because the Explorer crashes are driving me up the wall?

Many thanks,

Peter.
