Hi guys. I am going down the hi-fi route but am buying older gear which only has analogue in. You can get some real nice audio gear for next to peanuts if you dont mind second hand.
I believe to get quality audio you need an external DAC, because inside a PC case is a very electrically noisy environment. These are stupidly expensive ($500NZD+) and I woke up this morning wondering if I could find an extension cable to mount my very nice m-audio sound card outside the PC in a sheilded box. Has anyone done such a thing, or even heard of it being done? Or can someone tell me why Im being daft? Otherwise Im tempted to give it a go....
