Hi,

I also had a related question to Walts81's about "first-run".

I am just now looking at the TVServer code to port an EPG plugin over
and noticed the TVDatabase "Program" object has no entries
beyond Title, Description, Genre, StartTime and EndTime (also ID and Notify).

Is there some other place to store related information like "first-run".
Also additional detail such as original air date, repeat/new,
rating, episode number/part etc etc...

Thanks for any guidance.

Where should I post about potential bugs I find? Should I post them with the other bug reports? I ask because the bugs I find aren't necessarily related to the interaction of the TV server with MediaPortal as I don't use MediaPortal. These "potential" bugs are merely from my experience with the API.

For instance... Yesterday I programmatically grabbed all TVprograms for a given time frame on a given channel. This worked great. However, since then, I have imported a new TVGuide.xml file from XMLTV and now when I run the same function for getting TVprograms, I am now getting 3 TVprograms per timeslot (on the same channel). So it appears that the epg database is corrupt (possibly from importing tvguide.xml files with overlapping timeframes).

So there's no equivalent to "First Run Only"??? That's considered a "must have". Tivo, SageTV, BeyonTV all have this feature. Is this something that is planned for future, was overlooked, or not being considered??

Thanks,
Josh

Maybe I misunderstand you but what about the type "once"?

No 'once' means at that time, that day, that channel only. It does not repeat at all after the recording is done.

Unfortunately my MP computer is sorta stuffed and the TV card won't work in it anymore (some sort of hardware issue) so I can't tell you with 100%, but I think there is another setting that allows that possibly. If not, I'll bet its being considered in the future because it is important.

BTW, 'first run only' means record all instances of the program as long as it is not a repeat.

The reason I doubt its a recording type is because for some people, a certain program might show on two different channels. Now if both channels are saying they're running it for the first time (obviously with respect to their channel) then you get two copies. Therefore its necessary to specify either "EveryTimeOnEveryChannel" or "EveryTimeOnThisChannel".

First Run option is not supported yet
Simply because most epg-grabbers dont specify whether a program
    is a first-run or a re-run.
We could add a extra field to the database to specify first run/re-run
but as said it would only work if the epg data itself contained this information

Anyway, feature requests belong in their own subforum. and not in the
    tvserver development forum

Where should I post about potential bugs I find?
In the tv server bugs subforum offcourse.
To help us fixing the bug, please describe it as detailed as possible and
    how to reproduce it
