and tryed it but it seems to to be for the tv guide part only thats not what i wanted i want it to show the logo when im watching tv and not only in the guide

Well i changed the line 63 in the externaldisplay.xml. I removed the "#" and "-" for the progressbar and replaced them with "■" and "□". Now i think its a bit nicer.

Here ist the whole line:

<TextProgressBar StartChar="[" EndChar="]" ValueChar="■" FillChar="□" Length="18">


But i still would love to have something with grafic like on a d-boxII

I've copied it from the charmap for Arial (if I intuite correctly the deutshland!) using
the copy button... but on the display (Imon VFD 16*2) appears this char ":"
instead of the "■"... It is another limit of this ridicolous display?
It must be a graphical display to show the "■" character?

I don't understand... is a printable char, is not?

A question that belongs to the iMon VFD:
It´s working in the so called plugin-Mode on my htpc. It´s working really nice but when running mp and I want to chance it to another mode for example MediaInformation or so it didn´t go into that mode. I guess mp blocks this - am I right?
And is there a chance to solve it?

Hi, I'm having a problem with my LCD.
It's a HD 44780 controller with 2 rows and 16 columns. It worked fine when I connected it the first time to my PC and enabled the external display plugin. But after I tried to translate "ö, ä and ü" to oe .... the display won't show anything?! But in e.g. LCD Smartie it shows the correct values.

Does anyone know how I can get it re-work with mediaportal?

MP Version is 0.2.2.0 without any svn.

Solved the problem. After deleting the ExternalDisplay.xml an reconfiguring the plugin it's working.

VFD Not Updating?

Hi,
I have most things going really well now. One small problem I have though is the VFD not updating while watching TV. When changing channels the info updates (ie displays the currently showing program name), however the current name does not update when the show is finished. I have to change channels and change back for the VFD to update. Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. Thanks if anyone can help.
