I installed MediaPortal at the weekend and it worked fine on Sunday. Today I tryied to use it but it would not start - error message: "Failed to locate assembly "Microsoft.Directx.DirectSound, version 1.0.2902.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" Note the configuration program must be executed from/reside in the MediaPortal folder, the execution will now end."
I have tried all the things I found by searching on Google but nothing has worked. Even tried complete uninstall and reinstall, and manual install of the correct directX package. Currently your install program says I have everything installed.
What can I do to solve this issue?
Running Windows 7 64bit.
managed to solve it myself. I reinstalled the directx runtime packages and all worked. No idea why it went wrong in the first place though.
