Is there a way to have a "fake" TV card that is maybe programmed for two different MPEG streams or something. I only have one TV card & want to work on MP in a VM. I already have it sort of working on my HTPC & don't want to go take it apart every time I want to mess with it.

Thanks, Chuck

Have you tried mediaportal by its self in your VM, I only tried VMware and found that mediaportal won't display (the directX startup error). but no I didn't find any virtual TV tuner although I would like one.

No I haven't tried setting it up yet because I was trying to find an answer to the TV card question. The TV section is really the only thing I wanted to work on.

No, there is no fake tv tuner card for MP. The problem about any virtualization stuff is that there is none which supports DirectX 9 yet, which is needed for MP. So it won't run.

I guess I will just have to make 2 installs on that machine then. Thanks. I just didn't want my playing with coding & settings to mess up the running set-up.

Thanks, Chuck
