I think the problem are the following lines in the log:

No idea about the problem, but your system specs don't match the logs - the logs say you are running Win XP.....

"Main: MediaPortal v1.1.7.0 is starting up on Windows XP ( Service Pack 3 ) [5.1.2600.196608]"

With live HD TV, does fast-forward work OK through the timeshift buffer (i.e. skip back a few minutes in the timeshift buffer then use fast-forward) ?

    Thanks for your help Owlsroost,
i have 2 computer. The productive htpc runs with windows 7 and my test system runs with windows xp. I attached the logs from my test sytem because on both computers i have the same issue. So i thought it does not matter which logs i attach.

Now i have attached the logs from the productive windows 7 sytem.
With live HD TV the fast-forward works perfect. The proplem only appears with recorded HD TV.

    Kind Regards,

    Thomas

    OK....

With recorded HD TV, does it work OK if you let it play for a while (10s maybe) before using FFWD ?

yes, without FFWD the recorded program works perfect. Also the 15s, 30s skipping works perfect.
Is there anything strange in the log files?

I can't reproduce this at the start of play (as happens in your log), but I can get the same log messages (and the video freezing) if I leave FFWD running for a long time on my Win7 dev laptop.

As far as I can tell, tsReader gets told by Windows that it's reached the end-of-file, so it stops trying to read any more data and playback freezes.....

If you let the file play for a while (at normal speed), and then try fast-forward does it still freeze ?

yes, it also freezes after playing for a while at normal speed and then switching to fast-forward.
On my XP testsystem the fast forward works perfect for 20-30 seconds and then the video freezes. On my Windows 7 system the freeze is immedately after enabling fast forward. Perhaps it has something to do with the hardware? But i think my Windows 7 hardware is quite good for an HTPC. The 4x fast forward woks without problems. But of course there i can only see big picture steps and no smooth video.
It is not an big issue for me because the skipping +5,10,+30.. works perfect.
I just wonder if i am the only one with that issue or does nobody uses the 2x fast forward.
