Hi Everyone ....

Am very impressed with 1.3.0 Alpha ... have installed it on 3 clients on my LAN and all are working smoothly with a couple of identified kinks ...[ EPG item resolved foe me by Holzi ] .. My currrent observation is ....
1.3.0 Alpha seems to have problem in that Fast forward [ Using mouse on Topbar ] .. locks up the system/screen during playback of recorded TV ... Skip steps work fine .... FF works fine on playback of videos, just on playback of recorded TV does it shows the problem ...

Can anyone confirm this is a known bug or do I need to investigate my own setup further ....

Regards to all ..........

I just tried this and it doesn't lock up here. When i use FFWD 2x i also see the video frames trying to follow the FFWD, as soon as i FFWD 4x, the video frame shows a still image, but i still see FFWDing on the timer (when i have the Info window (F9 on keyboard) open). As soon as i press play, it continues playback.

Please fill in your system specs, so we know a bit more about your system.

Thanks HomeY and Holzi for your comments .......

Hmmm ..... OK I just tried it again .... With the same problem ....

    SYSTEM ....Windows7 .. ACER AX3960
    4 gig Ram
1 Terrabyte HDD split into C and D drives ....
    500G HD C Drive ... System ...
    500G D drive for data ... [ includes MP Recorded TV programs ... ] ...

PROBLEM ... Replaying a recorded DVBT TV program ...... Works Fine .....
Use mouse on top bar to FF .......... Video frame locks .. Top bar still displays but locks and is inactive to mouse pointer ..
Mouse pointer remains mobile though ineffective ... no bottom screen display ...

Can get no responses from keyboard or mouse click ...
Have to use windows task manager to escape.... [ Shows MP Full Screen not responding ] ....

Tried it a second time just now and FFx2 worked ! ... Second mouse click to go to FFX4 locked up as above .....

On further investigation it may be only xxx.ts files ... Other formats appear to be ok ...... So Codec may be the issue as Holzi suggests ...
I note that LAV codecs are auto installed with 1.3.0 Alpha ......

I will try different codecs and maybe a different external player ......

HAd the same problem this morning with Recorded TV on 1.3A.

    EDIT:

Should state I am running a combo of LAV on the audio and MS decoder for H.264. Will try AVC later on, see if that does something similar.

Hi All .. Thanks for your comments ... .. Some new data for your perusal .....

    XP Install ...
I installed 1.3.0 Alpha on my WINXP machine as per my WIN7 machine .. [ With 2 tuners on the XP machine ] .....
Problem does not happen at all on the XP machine ..... FF up to X32 and back works without hangups .... All function seems normal ...

    WIN7 Install ...
With the WIN7 machine ... TRIED various codecs and external players and the problem remained without change on the WIN7 machine ....
Occaisionally will work with FF X2 then locks up when attempting FF X4
Usually Locks up with attempt to FF X2 ....

    Maybe it's my 64bit Win7 which is having a compatibility issue ....

As I usually use skip steps [ Which work fine ] , This is not an urgent issue with me, but I am very curious ........
I will continue to run 1.3.0 Alpha on my three machines ......
There are 2 LAN clients running WinXP and MP 1.3.0 Alpha , both access the recorded TV through the Video function and both work fine ...

Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions on how to proceed to isolate further .....

Please try to reproduce the problem and post full debug logs of your Win 7 system (See signature on how to do that).

Also, where are the recordings stored? On the Win 7 machine or on another PC in the network?

    Thanks HomeY .......

    My 1Terrabyte HDD is divided into C 500Gig and D 500Gig drives ....
The OS is on C ..... The MP TV Recording folder is on D ..

Ran replay of recorded TV and clicked on FF with mouse on topbar ... Frame freezed and mouse inaffective altough pointer still mobile ...
Cntrl+Shift+Esc to escape .... [ This is the exact previously discussed problem ] ....

I hopefully have attached the logs ....[DOUBLEPOST=1346103232][/DOUBLEPOST]Sorry I forgot to include answer to your questions....

The problem occurs on the Win7 machine which is a server plus client setup ....
The TV recordings are on the D drive of this win7 machine ...

Does the XP machine have a seperate Video Card in it? It might be that your onboard videocard on the Win 7 machine isn't powerfull enough for this.

I can reproduce the problem using the MS-DTV video decoder on Win7 32bit (with Intel graphics), using MPEG2 recordings (like in your logs).

PDVD11 and LAV video decoders seem to be OK for me (LAV is using DXVA2 native).
