Synopsis: When I enter into a fast forward speed of a movie I have recorded from MyTv, I get no preview of the movie I am watching. The screen flicks between two different images, and the counters wind up/down to tell you that you are progressing through the movie, but no preview on the screen like you get when you are using a DVD player.

I actually just tested using a DVD (in MP) and I get good fast forward motion up until around 16X and then nothing (I could easily live with that). I have used so many different versions of MP and vid/sound codecs that it is a waste of time to list them here. MP has always been the same using FF on recorded Movies recorded in MyTV for me. Is it just me or is this just how it all works? Or better yet is there a way to fix it??

Thanks,

BB

    Do you mean dvrms !
And yes they should playback ok using FF and rewind.
The only files i have similar problem with are xvid/divx files but only if i knock the ff/rew speed above 4x.

Yeah the DVRMS files all have been like that forever. Can't think what Xvids are like except as I said DVD's are ok up until 16X. Strangely enough they kind view properly in rewind at 2X but not above

Well one thing for certain it is not your system, yours higher spec than mine.
How do the files play back using any other software, that will let you ff/rewind.

The only other software that I have that plays them is Media Player which doesn't seem to let me ff/rw. Any ideas on something esle I can try?
