fast forward/rewind issue (1 Viewer)

Windows Version: XP SP2 32bit
CPU Type: Core Duo 6600
HDD: seagate 160gb
Memory: 2G

Hi folks, me's a newbie with MP, but I must say... REALLY nice
Only some minor issues so far, when fast-forwarding movies:
the icon reads "2x" but the movie actually fasts forward about
10 or 20x... is there any fix to this? Tried different decoders
(MPV, dscaler, ffdshow won't show up in the list), but none
circumwent the problem.

Any ideas?

I'm having a similar issue where the forward and rewind is erratic normally it starts really slow (as in slower then 1x speed) then randomly jumps forward by 5-12 sec with random lengthed pauses between each jump. I have tried different files thinking it might be the file but have not been satisifed with the results for any of the files. I have used divx player outside of media portal and it worked great for fast forwarding and rewinding (although it had no OSD so I had no idea where I was in the file). Sorry I don't have a solution but maybe the bump will help.
