I have a couple of shows that either cannot be recognized or have incorrect season and episode information due to problems in the guide listing.

For one show, the title is the entire description of the episode. The TV Server assigns the season/episode like "SEP93156740001" or something like that. MP-TVSeries thinks this is part of the show title, and because it has no season/episode information, MP-TVSeries fails to match it properly to thetvdb.com.

For another show, the description is always the same generic text. For these, the TV server always assigns it the same season/episode information, regardless of when it first aired or was recorded.

How does the TV server get its season/episode information? Is it possible to have the TV Server determine season/episode by air date if it cannot match a title or description?

    Hello

How does the TV server get its season/episode information?
It gets it from the guide data source you have chosen to use.

Is it possible to have the TV Server determine season/episode by air date if it cannot match a title or description?
TV Server doesn't "determine" season/episode details. It simply accepts and stores whatever is passed to it from the guide data source you choose to use. There's no matching or other processing involved.

My advice is that you need to solve this problem at the source. In other words: report this problem to your current guide data source provider/maintainer, or switch to a different guide data source.
