I love being able to play Blu-Rays and DVDs with Moving Pictures, but I don't necessarily want every movie I rent to be added to my movie list. I know I can manually delete the entry in the DB after each one, but I rent a lot of movies. is it possible to include an option to still download/show the fanart, DVD Cover, and description for Blu-Rays and DVDs inserted, and the option to play them from Moving Pictures, without adding it to the movie list?

We are definitely planning on implementing this Weeji, but it is currently not scheduled to be worked on until the 0.9 release. So that means not the next release that will be out in about a month, but the following release. Things of course do change though and if there is enough support for the feature we may pull it up. To vote for the issue and to receive automatic updates as we make progress on it, you can star it on Google Code.
