Even though I have ffdshow selected as the default audio decoder, it doesn't start. I downloaded graphedit and found the audio is being connected through the arcsoft hd audio decoder. I've checked all the merits and I can't find anything out of place. I've uninstalled and reinstalled ffdshow numerous times and it doesn't do anything to help. I even deleted the arcsoft decoder and then got nothing at all! Blank picture with now sound.

HELP!

Ok, I just installed the new SAF and ffdshow starts, but it still pins to the arcsoft codec (MP -> Arcsoft -> ffdshow -> directsounf device). If I remove the arcsoft codec I get nothing. No picture, no sound.

WTF is going on here???

When you say you removed the Arcsoft codec, do you mean you un-registered it - regsvr32 -u <filename> - or just removed the files ? You must un-register it to make it unavailable.

Can you show your system specs please.....

So what sort of files are you trying to play ?

In Graphedit, which source filter and/or file splitter is being used ? - if it's the Arcsoft splitter it might refuse to connect to anything other than Arcsoft filters.

Otherwise, attach some MP logs covering the situation (see the link in my sig).

    Sorry, it's live tv.

For video it says tswriter -> dscaler -> vmr renderer

I looked at the logs myself and I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. It's like it refuses to acknowlege ffdshow.

LiveTV should work with FFDShow audio (I use it myself in MP 1.0.2)

Is this ATSC digital TV (i.e. AC3 audio) ?

Is AC3 support enabled in the FFDshow 'codec' settings section ?

You could try forcing FFDShow audio into the graph by adding it in TV post-processing.

Ok, I don't know why this would affect anything, but I installed the newest catalyst (9.10) and HDMI audio drivers tonight and tried again. It worked!

    I got nothin'! lol
