Hi there,

I'm in the process of transferring our dvd collection to the mediacenter (roughly going to workout to 2tb's) as img/iso's, however, the quality shown on a 42" is not as good as watching them from the disc, I've heard that ffdshow should be the codec of choice and have read a couple of the guides here but they mention about selecting the ffdshow codec in the movie player/video codec drop down list. All I get though are the 3 standard video codecs and not FFD show, it does however show up in the audio codecs.

Is there is a setting somewhere I've missed that allows mediaportal to pick it up?

Thanks.

    Hi,

you have to add the "ffdshow raw video filter" in the Postprocessing section of the DVD settings. After doing this, edit the filter properties and set "all supported formats" in the codec settings. You can check, if ffdshow is used, by activating the OSD of ffdshow in its settings. Unfortunatly ffdshow does not connect to the standard MPV decoder.

    HTH,
