    Hello,

I'm using ffdshow for audio output of TV, but still have problems with the configuration.

    I would like to have
    • "regular" stereo / 2 channel (analog) output and
    • if I select the specific Audio channel, DolbyDigital (AC3: DD) via SPIDIF.

Actually I have connected the amplifier with the htpc via a chinch stereo and a spidif cable. Each to a diffrent output device, so if I watch a DVD (MPA Decoder with SPDIF) I select the SPDIF device, otherwise the TV device input with the chinch cable.

With TV most of the time I use the 2 channel audio, because I want to have the normalisation (with ffdshow) and the upmix by the amplifier.

But I have problems while watching TV with AC3: DD : With spidif the amplifier don't recognizes a DD signal and switches to stereo upmix. No sound on cinch (as expected).

How do I have to configure ffdshow, that I can hear TV
    • most of the Time with 2 channel with normalisation & upmix by amplifier AND
    • passtrough via SPIDIF if I select AC3: DD?

Maybe it's possible to do both just via SPDIF?

I tried several diffrent things (try & error), but don't get realy an idea, how ffdshow realy works...

    Thanks!

I have a similar situation except all my audio goes through spdif but if the signal is DD I'd like the reciever to switch to DD otherwise let it switch to pro logic.
In my situation all the Live TV must be pro logic and all movie stuff (divx and video_ts) must be dolby digital.

The strange thing is that I can choose different codecs for live tv and movies but it has no effect (on divx files)? It looks like the codec configuration of live tv is used for movies.

So I really like to see the answer to your question!
