TV Post Processing Activated Filters: ffdshow Video Decoder
Video Decoder: Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD7)

No matter what settigns I change in ffdshow, whenever it is activated in MP settings (and thus MP uses it) scrolling text always looks blurry/doubled up (see screenshots below);

Without ffdshow activated:

With ffdshow activated:

So what's the issue? How can I keep the better picture quality I receive when using ffdshow but not getting such smudged scrolling text?

What settings are you using in ffdshow. have you enabled any deinterlacing settings ? are there deinterlacing settings in your pDVD decoder ? these could be some issues when there is dual or no deinterlacing.

In ffdshow I'm using TomsMoComp Deinterlacing... Even with Deinterlacing & All other image options turned OFF in ffdshow I get the same problem... Is this some sort of odd ffdshow codec problem?

How can I be sure that my powerdvd/cyberlink codec has not got deinterlacing turned on? Is it simply a matter of opening powerdvd and switching it off in the options?

The "With" image looks a lot sharper than the "without"

Are you sure you don't have any ffdshow filters enabled that's causing the blurred text as a side-effect?

In ffdshow, I've got Blur & NR, Resize & aspect, Deinterlacing, & Avisynth with the following code enabled;

Code:
SetMemoryMax(1024)
MT("LimitedSharpenFaster(ss_x=1.0, ss_y=1.0, Smode=3, strength=250, overshoot=1)",3)

I've followed instructions on setting ffdshow up using this walkthrough... Even when I turn all four above image settings off, I get the same results, without the better sharpness ofcourse...

That's exactly my problem as well. The picture quality/sharpness is sooo much better with ffdshow enabled, but when it comes to moving pictures, it looks nothing but awfull.

Simon
